Getting here and getting around
Airport transfers are the most requested item, either from Huatulco (HUX), a two-and-a-half-hour drive but often much cheaper to fly into, or from Puerto Escondido (PXM). A concierge arranges a known driver waiting for you in front of the airport entrance hall, rather than whoever is outside arrivals. This matters most on late-night landings.
Beyond that: rental cars and scooters, drivers for day trips, and a reliable pickup for a 4am departure. That kind of thing is easy to arrange locally and stressful to arrange from abroad.
Eating well
A surprising number of the best places in Puerto Escondido do not have a strong online presence or a website at all.

The standard list: sunrise boat trips to see dolphins and turtles, bioluminescence tours, day trips to the Chacahua lagoons, surf lessons, mezcal tastings, hot springs, and turtle releases at Bacocho.
The value of a concierge here is filtering. These trips are run by many different operators of very different quality. The online ranking mostly reflects marketing spend, and a bad boat trip in the open Pacific is genuinely unpleasant. Someone who has used the operators can tell you which ones to book and which to skip.
Services at the house
Private cook or chef, massage at the property, a private yoga lesson in the house or a guided cacao ceremony, extra cleaning mid-stay. These are the requests that turn a rental into something closer to a hotel, without the hotel.
The unglamorous half
The most valuable concierge requests are usually the least exciting: a doctor who speaks English, a pharmacy that is open, a laundry that returns things the same day, a working ATM, a locksmith, or a replacement phone charger.
This is where local knowledge saves a holiday. It is also the part no app does well.
What a concierge is not
It is not a tour operator selling its own packages, and it is not a 24-hour staffed desk.
With me it is one person, personally, over WhatsApp, which means the answers are honest and specific. It also means that a private chef in the week of Christmas needs more than a day's notice.

- Some arrangements carry a small fee and some, like a restaurant recommendation, do not. Tours and transfers are paid directly to the operator at their normal price. You will always be told the cost before anything is confirmed, and most tours require a 50% pre-payment one or two days before the tour takes place.
- Do I need a concierge if I have booked a hotel?
- Not usually for basics, since hotels handle those. It becomes useful when you want something specific: a particular boat operator, a private chef or cook, or a day trip built around your interests rather than a fixed group tour.
- Can you help with medical or emergency situations?
- I can point you to the right doctor, clinic or pharmacy quickly, help with language, and arrange transport. For a genuine emergency, call the local emergency services first. The concierge role is coordination and translation, not medical care.
